Someone is offering this to me as part of a deal for a car i am selling does anyone know what it might be worth or interested in it .. Any input would be helpfull

It's a numbers matching 1970 Plymouth Fury III 2 door in original condition. It's literally a barn car find. I am only the third owner. This car has survived beautifully in the past 40 years and turns heads on the road. A unique car that just isn’t seen very much anymore these days. This 2 door car is a massive 18 feet long, it's a very menacing and aggressive looking car. This car has been garage kept. It's always been a dependable car for me, and has never left me stranded. Starts right up first time, stays cool, leaks nothing and is a real smooth ride.

The engine is the original 318 and has been overhauled and thoroughly detailed. The heads have been hot tanked and rebuilt. Original 2 BBL Carter carburetor has been rebuilt and tuned. New 360 cam, lifters & pushrods, valve train, head & intake gaskets, thermostat, timing gear and chain, water pump, mechanical fuel pump, oil pump and P/S pump, P/S gearbox, master cylinder, brake lines, brake shoes & springs, shocks (air shocks in the rear are controlled by a knob under the registration plate, by the fuel cap), ball joints, inner/ outer tie rods, alignment, idler arm, pitman arm, bushings, exhaust (dual turbo’s), alternator, starter, battery. The points system has been converted to an electronic ignition, and starts the way it should. Wiring harness has been examined as close as possible, and connections appear to be fine. The radiator is solid and does not leak. The 24 gal gas tank is also solid and doesn’t leak. All of the fluids have been drained and changed, and filters replaced. This engine is strong and sounds great. The transmission is the original 3 spd 727 automatic overdrive torque flight, and shifts clean and smooth. All together it's an awesome package and has an enormous amount of power for a small block motor. The miliage read just over 130K original miles, with about 10K on the rebuilt motor. The engine bay has been restored just as beautiful as it would have looked fresh from the factory.

The body is pretty solid and shows its age a little bit by the rear wheel wells and underneath the door, which is common for any car this age. There are a few minor dings, but nothing serious. It will need some body work to make perfect. The original owner freshened the paint back in the eighties with the original Frosted Teal metallic and still looks pretty good. The vinyl top has long been removed and painted with a jet black in its place. All chrome and stainless steel trim is original and in decent shape. All of the glass and mirrors are there and in good shape. Car has never been in an accident and is very straight. The hood has the double bumps and broad stripes for an aggressive look. The chrome is in presentable condition and shines up pretty nice. This car has the police wheel package, which is rare to find. Solid black 15x 7.5 steel rims with the dog dish center caps all around, even the spare in the trunk matches. Tires are all good. Original working jack with all the pieces has been restored. The trunk is in decent shape with some metal patchwork in the bed, done before I ever got the car. Trunk lid opens and shuts fine.

The interior is clean and in comfortable shape. The drivers seat has some wear and tear with a cover on it for now, and the back seats have had some home upholstery work, that look pretty good. It serves very well until the time comes for a professional shop to complete them more thoroughly for a show quality finish. The upholstery is in a “drivers” condition and could use a refurbishing if wanted to be show quality. Carpet is good and black and does have some patchwork on the drivers side. The door panels and armrests are very nice. The headliner is in terrific condition and all original, with no sags or anything, just original black and beautiful. The interior light is missing. The dash is in really good condition with just a few small cracks by the windshield. The wood grain trim is actually stained oak veneer and looks so much better than the fake stuff they used to put on. Instrument panel is solid and intact and all the gauges work. There is an oil pressure gauge, in a wood grain and chrome finish, looks great. Steering wheel is original, wrapped in black leather. The car originally came with an AM radio, but was replaced with a Pioneer CD/MP3 player. This is not a hack job and looks like it has always been there. New 6x9’s in the back window that sound great, even has a remote. As I said, the interior is in decent drivers condition and would need to see an upholstery shop for some repairs to be 100%.

Overall, this is a great car, and one you will not see come around often. The car has alot of potential no matter what your plans are, I have had my time and its time to pass it on. I have 3 sets of keys that all work fine. I have the original build sheets, owners manual, sales brochure and even the t shirt. I also have the original Chilton’s repair manual. I have some extra spare parts such as trim, carbureter, power mirror, chrome rear view mirror, and lots more that i will throw in the trunk.

feel free to post or call with your thoughts

Wow, that car looks nice. Someone will be happy with it.

My old neighbor used to have a 1972 Plymouth Fury III 4 door.

Looks like a nice car - throw a 4bbl manifold and carb on it and she should motor right along...

...good thing it has power steering - you do NOT want to be trying to manuever in a parking lot without it given the size of that land yacht!
