So I have this dilema.  I have some some ideas on paper, but it's not enough to make a descision and the only software I know how to use for designing anything is Microsoft Visio.  I can do a lot with it, but Photoshop and other Adobe products can do SO much more.  Anyone have the time to paint my car before I really paint my car.  Anyone even know what a Laguna S'3 looks like?

Post a picture and I'm sure someone will help you out. I personally can't afford the program but you can see photoshopped pics of my car in the off topic section under exit89s photoshopped.

How bout a Starsky and Hutch stripe. I know it's not a Torino but it really looks like it would work on this car.

That's a Laguna and a good shot too!  I found a few of the internet to work with and printed them out.  Then I did it old school and drew it.

I took pictures of the drawings, but can't figure out how to put them in this post.    Help!!!!!!!!!!!!

So here they are on Kodak Gallery: http://www.kodakgallery.com/ShareLanding.action?c=16jt91m0.7qd204rs&x=0&y=wp8uk&localeid=en_US&cm_mmc=site_email-_-site_share-_-core-_-view_photos_button

I thought about the S&H stripe and then thought again and came up with these drawings, but the drawing of the Rear is all wrong. I like the Nose but it needs something...  not sure what.

The Side shot I really like (and has something like the S&H stripe going the other way and it's not as fat.)

I don't know about the body color yet, but I'm sold on Black for the Striping...

If you look at the nose, the Striping is Black, then from the rear, the body insert color is Black so the stripes look like the body color.  Like I said, the rear is wrong.  I think the body insert needs to make the rear stipe appear wider, but can't really see it.

Seeing it done in Photoshop or something like that will help.

Hey Wayne... Sounds like you had a nice one... And Yes selling it was a mistake.  This is my second one because I sold my first one too!!!

I have plenty of pictures but still can't figure out how to post them.

PhotoShop skills is something I don't have either which is why I'm reaching out.  I have some ideas that I want to see and that would be the best way.

Are you planning to use white as the base color?

I was thinking about copper as the base coat with Black stipes.  I wanted contrast, but not too much like a yellow or a white would be.  But then I even thought about midnight blue or a dark green which is completely oposite - hardly any contrast.

See, that's the reason why seeing it would help a lot..

That's a nice ride... do you have the link for it.

Here are some shot of my Laguna before I started the restoration

And here is what I want to do to it...

LagunaDrawingSide.jpg Laguna Drawing - Side picture by Driven427

I like the side view.  Here are the colors - Copper with Black Stripes or Midnight Blue with Black Stripes or Real Dark Green with Black Stripes

LagunaDrawingNose.jpg Laguna Drawing - Nose picture by Driven427

And I like the Nose... but it's the rear drawing that I can't seem to get right so the colors reverse.

I new that this was the last Chevelle body style that Baldwin Motion did and I looked for images of it. Unfortunately the 73 was the last and it just had SS type stripes but I did find the posting of that Yellow/ orange and black one on an image search. Except for the hockey stripes it looks like the 1969 Camaro BaldwinMotion paint scheme.

Ok. I got the front & side done. I choose to try out the yellow first b/c I really liked it. Changing colors will be easy, so don't worry about asking for more color options. Blue is next.

The color is off b/c the side veiw was red originally & the front view was white.

Yellow Photoshoped laguna

Ok, this is good...  How did you change the car color and still have it show the highs and lows and reflectiveness of the surrounding light.  Can you make the stripes do this too?

How much time does this take?   So many questions - I'm sorry.

It would take me hours in Visio and it would be a flat non-dimentional drawing.

Thanks

It didn't take long @ all very quick. The side view pic took abit longer b/c it was of the red & removing the stripe. I used adjustment/ color fill layers w/ layer makes for the color & the paintbrush tool for the highlights. Oh I used ~Photoshp~

Ok, so we all know the rear shot is horrible.  How about a few small changes for the back stripe?  First make the inside lines go straight ( no turn out ).  Then make the the stripe wider by bringing it out to the trunk line and then turn it out to the rear sail.

Here is a picture of the color I would like the Body to be.
