ok so i have a 1974 plymouth duster and one day when i was driving to the body shop i parked the car and when i went to go start it back up it wouldnt start.... my mechanic told me the timimng belt slipped and bent the pushrods and ruined the engine....so i told him to drop in a new engine and trans and it still has no spark.....can anyone tell me what else could be the problem

Got it...I could not respond to this & it was driving me nuts.. Heres my suggestions hope one helps!

I would have tried a few other ideas before replacing the entire engine but since thats happened already at least you will have a fresh engine to work with right?

Try replacing the Ballast resisior, The starter relay, coil, and then check the spark (I toss those out 1st because they are the cheapest fixes)

Not knowing your distrib configuration, points replace those, electronic go for that brain (be it orange box of silver) replace it they go & give no warinings they jusy go!

then try for spark, please keep us posted on the outcome,

i replaced the battery, alternator, distributor, ignition module, ignition coil just about all electrical under the hood......still no spark,,,,,,this is driving me crazy
