So after years of nagging, I mean, er, "nudging" by Steph (and two years of the same by Tony ;-) we finally dragged my Roadrunner out of the weeds (sort of) and it now is in the driveway of Petro Performance.

For those who don't know, this was my first car when I got my license in 1991 but was purchased in the summer of 1989 (now I feel old).  My father had a similar 69 Roadrunner back in 69, and when I saw photos of it I knew that was the model of car I wanted.  I found it, believe it or not, 1 block from my house in Jackson at that time, and used all my money saved working as a busboy to purchase the vehicle for a whopping 1,000 dollars.  Before I had sat behind the wheel we had stripped it down similar to what is seen in today's photos.

It is a 1969 Roadrunner hardtop (which means there is no hard B-post), with a 383 mated to a 4-speed with Hurst shifter.  It has bucket seats and a center console (although you cant tell by these photos).  the original color was F8, or Ivy Green Metallic, but it was repainted a GM (?) color by a previous owner.

I drove it for two short years and had a lot of fun with the car before the upkeep and gas prevented me from using it any longer - I switched from this to a Honda CRX :(

It sat in my Mom's garage for a year or two before heading to Millstone.  It sat in the barn for about 10 years before getting "evicted" and sat outside for the next ten.  The elements took their toll on it but some of the critical areas appear to be in good shape after inspecting it today.  Of course being on a farm the critters invaded it and made a home out of the interior - which is why it was ripped out and vacuumed out today.

While we thought we would be pulling it out of the weeds this morning my cousin whose farm it was sitting on had pulled it out with a tractor.  Billy, Tony and Jim helped out a TON today by helping get the car from Millstone to Bayville - Thank you!

Some photos below (Jim and Tony - feel free to post any of the ones you took today here as well)

you are a lost cause when it comes to driving stick.  The car also has manual steering and manual brakes so it is a handful.  NO CAR FOR YOU! NEXT!!!

What a cool project. I had a 68 Plymouth GTX. Are those rear quarters in as good a shape as they look in the video?? They were notorious for rotting out in that area. Mine did!

Steph, I do believe I offered to teach you in your intro thread and that offer still stands today.
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain yelling "it's mine, it's mine"! lmao He will get over that soon enough.
We all know who rules the roost over at your place haha
