With the 300 SRT8 you have this fungal growth on the air intake that blocks the typical catch can installation location... So, I found someone willing to let go of a Charger SRT8 air tube in order to make room for the Billet Technology can that has been gathering dust on my shelf. Wanted it as close as possible in order to keep the hoses short.

Simple install... Pics show that while my engine bay may not be too exciting, I do keep it clean... LOL

May replace the hoses for some all black rubber ones, but it is good for now.

Other than the Rec Nav LockPick I have sitting here, I may be done with the mods for now. Got the Predator tune, 180* thermostat, catch can, K&N drop in filter, Grip grille with mesh, brighter Halogen fogs, and Stealth silver bulbs anywhere that there was an amber bulb stock. On the horizon somewhere I may go to a Blastin' Bob setup for the exhaust.

Jason--it looks like a nice clean job as well as your engine bay--but you may want to get the braided hoses instead of rubber hose--supposedly the rubber hose will deteriate--what did your throttle body look like when you changed the air tube--any oil residue around or inside it--it is only 4 bolts to take it off if you want to clean it--just a thought--

Thanks!

I dug in to the throttle body in the spring when I changed the filter. It had some black greasy film on it, but not the worst I have seen. Hit it with some STP throttle body cleaner and it was shining in no time.

As for the braided hoses... Billet Tech's look like they come for 5.7L - since they are pre-cut with fittings installed for a length that is too long for what I need, and kind of pricey. Maybe they have 6.1 versions, but I just don't see them. That said, the stock hose was rubber, and looked just fine when I removed it. I am fine with a rubber hose, but just not so happy with the ones included with the can since they have so much text on them, plus the cord reinforcement never looks good after being cut. At work I have tons of scrap pieces of hydraulic hose that I should be able to find something good to use... Maybe even some braided ones.

Oil change due in 2500 miles so I'll be sure to post a picture of what I find.
