I am the owner of a 2008 Charger R/T, that I purchased NEW in Oct. 2008. I love the look and of coarse the DRIVE of this vehicle!!!
However, I have been having a serious mechanical problem with this vehicle over the last six months. The vehicle has not been driven much, and just turned 10,000 miles. The vehicle is still under the factory warranty.
The problem started with the diagnostic light coming on, and the vehicle running rough, especially when first started. The local dealership first changed the computer, which made the problem go away for two days. The dealership on the next visit, after an extended stay, determined that there was a factory defect with a cylinder, that damaged one of the heads.
Well I had my meeting with the Dodge factory rep this morning (02/19/2010), and as some of you warned, the news was not good. Dodge Rep refuses to replace the vehicle, or refund the total cost of the vehicle. Better yet, Dodge even refuses to replace the motor!!!
There excuse is it is MY FAULT (my wife) that the cylinders are building up excessive carbon, and burning up, because the vehicle IS NOT USED ENOUGH, are driven hard enough! I do not know about the rest of you, but I did not see a disclaimer on the window glass sticker, stating that the vehicle MUST be driven hard, and often.
They (Dodge) refuses to replace the motor because there is a lifetime warranty on the drive train. Just how many times does a consumer have to return a vehicle for burnt cylinders, and damaged heads, for the motor to be replaced anyway??? Again, my vehicle only has a little over 10,000 miles on it!
The official response from Dodge Rep is to again replace the damaged cylinder, and head, and add a "special" fuel additive into the fuel tank to clean the carbon build up. Neddless to say, I will turn this over to my attorney for litigation, for violation of the Louisiana Lemon Law. I am disappointed that Dodge refuses to do the right thing, and stand behind their product.

Pulled this off another forum..... Are they for real here??????? I would be at the attorneys office so fast his hourly rate would be spinning...
