If you are on lxforums.com they have been flying around for cheap. I thought I got a good deal at $260 shipped for just the unit - now I see them for that price or less including the USB cable and power cord. I don't need that stuff, but knowing I could have paid less gives me buyers remorse.

Bryan..........AKA........StrawberryHemi , I just purchased a brand new Predator in a box from one of our vendors " RDP " and the price was the best I could find anywhere including E-bay . They have the 5.7 Ltr Hemi model U7135 for $289.00 , no tax , no shipping and I got it in 2 days from ordering . You can call them as I did at 1-440-358-5500 , or go to their web site at www.rdp.com and use the E-mail link there.
As for any used ones there may be some out there but they may not work on someone else's car if they were already used on a car and logged into the Predator web site. At least thats what I've been told.
Good luck on your search.

For used ones - you just have to make sure that the previous owner un-married it from their car. Basically, they just have to return the stock tune before selling.

It shouldn't be a big deal - but you do have to make sure the seller knows to do that, otherwise it won't be any good on a new car until it is unmarried from the old.

Being a new guy here maybe someone could tell me what the Predator is? I had a Diablo Delta Sport Chip with 2 custom tunes in my old "Stang and I know it voids warranties....does the Predator? Is it a chip? Is it a tune program that you upload to your cars computer? Can you change the tune yourself when you add a mod like CAI or an exhaust? I need an education please ;-) Wayne, maybe you could help...and BTW, the link you posted goes to a generic search site.

@ Hemi Daddy: check out the web site listed below and it should answer all your questions except about the warrenty, that you'll have to research and figure out on your own.

@ Wayne: I hate to be the bearer of bad news for you but Diablo Sport has them on sale right now for $284.95. You probably did fine though if you didn't pay shipping.
@ Strawberry Hemi: For this price your best bet would be to buy new. I paid $350 new for mine two years ago. Guess I should have waited.
Just my $0.02 here.

HEMI_Daddy - add that predator tune, a CAI, and bump up that throttle body, and you will need to smoke a cigarette after the first test drive. I always remove my predator tune before any warranty work.

Tex is talking about replacing with a Ported Throttle Body. Billet Technologies, Moe's Performance and a few other places port stock Chrysler throttle bodies. It will cost about $275 but it is a replacement so you keep your stock one.
From the few I've spoken to, the spacer makes a whistling noise so I think the ported TB is the better way to go.

@ Bill. no bad news at all as if you remember I bought my Predator over 2 years ago when they were selling for $ 350 or more and I got mine with no tax and no shipping . Along with the time that has gone by and as they sell more everyone knows that prices drop and your what really talking about only $ 5 difference, so I consider I did great !
@ Hemi Daddy , the one thing I like about the Predator tune system is the easy prompts that allow you to custom tune to the mods that you've done to your car along with the main option that allows you to return your car to the stock tune in the event you have to take your car to the dealer for repairs that might involve going into your cars control PC .
With due respect to all the comments about CAI's and other mods all I can say is the proof is in the dyno .....my car bone stock was 329 rear wheel HP and after I installed the Airaid Cold Air Intake , the 85 mm ported throttle body , and a set a Flowmaster Super 44 mufflers and deleted the resonators and a Predator 93 octane tune, its now pushing out 347 real wheel HP . Now I agree that you can't place this gain on any one thing but all 3 things added up to this gain so in my humble opinion these mods do help performance . I'd also like to say that my Airaid CAI is sealed off by design from the engine compartment and only gets its cooler air from the bottom of the car like the stock air box did.

In reference to the cold air intakes. There are as many good articles as bad out there. There may be some issues if the car is idling for a while as the tubes can heat up and the hot air builds up inder the hood. But as soon as you start to go the replacement air is cold and cools town the tube very quickly. This could affect your 60ft time if you do not ice down the intake manifold between runs but that is about it. If you go to the link below you will see that the C&L metal tube intake seems to have no problem with heat soak. Ideally it makes sense to get the air from outside the hood area but the stock air boxes on the hemis have a hole in the front facing the grill and one facing down. the C&L unit uses the stock lower box for a tight fit. Had one on my 09 Chally SRT8 and it seemed to work fine. dyno was 362rwhp 358tq with that and the suit case muffler delete. Read for yourself.

I just had Billet Technologies port a throttle body this spring... They do not offer a core replacement, so you have to provide a unit to them. That said, it is only $150 for their service including return shipping. You can buy a used TB on other forums for like $60 shipped. That is what I did so I had no down time, and once the one I bought was ported and confirmed to be functional (LOL) I then sold my original one.

Great info guys, thank you all very much. I had a great experience with a CAI on my Stang, but then again I had that car moded to the point of no return...anywho, I spent some time researching options for my 5.7, K&N, AirAid, BBK, others and the Mopar...actually just left Johnson Dodge and spent an awful lot of time talking with their parts team and tech managers (great bunch of guys (and gals...Steph...)and they more than happy to talk shop with me, and I think I've actually decided to eventually go with the Mopar CAI and a Borla CatBack, hell, they will even install them both for me even if I dont buy from them....so it seems with all of your help and some advice from others who have been building vintage Darts, Challengers and other Mopars...I now have a clear vision! Thanks again!
