I've been hearing this sound coming from under my hood when I'm @ low RPM's. It's like a metal scraping sound. It' only audible when the car's moving in a straight line or when I come to an abrupt halt. Anyone have any idea as to what it might be?
Deena , my 2 cents for what its worth ...LOL.....your noise I'm sorry to say could be a lot of things but 2 things come to mind .....1 , one of your fan blades could have got bent and is hitting something as your going straight and as you slow to a stop it is thrown forward just a tiny bit also .....let the car warm up good , open your hood and try and watch your fans as they turn on and listen for a scraping noise .....BUT PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING thats moving .....even after you turn the car off !! No. 2, The brakes could be worn down to their wear indicators or there may be something loose or not working in the front brake system thats causing this noise but the pressure or cause is removed when you turn the wheels back and forth ........Thats all I can think of that would cause a metal type scraping noise but I'm sure there are other things too.

Are you bringing the car down to the big show at Garveys on Sunday? If you are going to be at that show I will try to listen to this noise and help the best I can.
