First off i had a great time at the sussex co meet tonight! u all made me feel right at home...thank u all for the warm welcome....but on my way home i got on the jersey turnpike and i started hearing a noise but i thought it was the tractor trailers tires next to me (we all know that distinct wining sound tem tractor trailers make) soo i realized it wasnt him....it was me! i know its in the drive train cuz when i parked and reved the engine it sounded fine but when in gear it was unlike anything ive ever heard it was a wining/grinding/rattling sound....im thinkin its my tranny or transfer case....injust rebuilt the front and rear differentials so i dont think it was my rear but i felt the pumpkin and it was hot but not ungodly hot....any thought????anyone????

Leaking any fluids, any gears slipping, check the tranny fluid, any metal shavings on the tranny fluid stick? Could be one of many things I'm far from a mechanic but I did it eat at the sheridan lodge last night!

That's a tough one. Could be anything from the transfer case to the trans, even to a brake issue (rotors rubbing something and the sound bounces sounding like it's under the truck)

Did you notice anything in regards to certain speeds? Was it constant at all speeds?

I checked the brakes nothing there.... I think it's coming from the transfer case.... I already need to rebuild it but it was only giving me a problem in 4wd not in 2wd.... It only makes the sound when I'm in motion and on the gas pedal, as soon as I let off the gas it stops.... Boggling my mind... I just rebuilt the differentials and put the 4:56 gears in and don't think it's the rear but it could be anything I need to get it up on a lift and drive it in the air so I can be under it and listen.... Might just take it to my local dodge dealer probly my best bet.... Money, money and more money... If Johnson dodge wasn't so far I'd take it there so I could take advantage of the discount.....

it is constant....but more pronounced around 60mph (its def not wheel balance either) no vibrations and its only constant when im on the gas pedal when im not on the gas theres no noise and its only when im indrive....if im in nutral or park and rev the engine it sounds just fine
