I always wipe my car down, but a few weeks ago, my car was caught in a rainstorm in my driveway. Lucky I closed the windows, because normally I have them open! Anyway, runoff from the shaker hood got on the alternator bracket and stained it. I cleaned it pretty well with aluminum polish wadding, but since my car is going to remain a weekend driver, weekday garage queen, does anyone have any suggestions on keeping the aluminum bright and shiny, and preventing it from corroding/oxidizing?

Aside from the occasional accident, I dont expect my car to get wet often, but oxidized aluminum looks like crap. Yea, I guess I AM that anal…..
